Hermès en Grèce
Mataroa is an album-musical inspired by a New Zealand ship of the same name, which in 1945 transported 200 young Greek intellectuals to Paris where they escaped the Greek Civil War. By using the concept of ‘rescue’ this project correlates the moment of disembarkation with the redemptive state that one can gradually acquire through an inner journey of self-exploration.
In collaboration with film director Manolis Mavris, we created a video installation on the occasion of the album’s final show in Athens. HD video, 2 mins, colour, sound
