Mataroa is an album-musical, inspired by a New Zealand ship of the same name. In 1945, it transported 200 young Greek intellectuals to Paris, where they escaped the Greek Civil War. The main narrative of this project revolves around the concept of ‘rescue’. It correlates the moment of disembarkation with a redemptive state that one gradually acquires, through an inner journey of self-exploration.

In collaboration with film director Manolis Mavris, we created a video installation on the occasion of the album’s final show in Athens. HD video, 2 mins, colour, sound.
